Response to Notification of Oyster Creek Onsite Property Insurance Coverage Letter Date: Monday, October 05, 2020 9:53:00 AM Ms. Sterdis, This email is in response to the letter sent by Holtec Decommissioning International, LLC (HDI) on September 15, 2020 (ML20259A484), related to the Oyster Creek onsite property damage insurance. The letter provided a courtesy notification to the NRC of the transition to meet financial protection requirements for the Oyster Creek site using a combination of onsite property insurance and excess Nuclear Decommissioning Trust (NDT) funds as described in HDIs Report on Status of Decommissioning Funding for Reactors and Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installations, dated March 31, 2020 (ML20091M858). The NRC staff has reviewed the information provided in your letter and finds that the proposed plan will allow HDI to remain in compliance with 10 CFR 50.54(w)(3) and 10 CFR 50.82(a)
(8)(v), while still maintaining the required amount of onsite property insurance coverage and decommissioning funding assurance for the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this email will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records component of ADAMS.
