Dear Mr. Sharkey,
- As requested in your letter dated August 13,1999, this letter grants a six-month extension of
. time for you to further develop and refine the in-situ leaching (ISL) process for the recovery of uranium from soils beneath the evaporation ponds. Since this extension will result in a time to l complete decommissioning that exceeds 24 months from NRC approval of the ponds decommissioning plan (January 1998), then you should request an altemate schedule for completion of decommissioning under 10 CFR 70.38(i) as soon as possible.
