Interpass temperatures above 1500T shall be checked using temperature indicating crayons.
2.
Tack welds shall employ the parameters for the root pass.
3.
Tack weld shall be complete fusion. The starts and stops shall be tapered by grinding so that the initial pass consumes the tack.
4 All velds shall utilize stringer beads.
5.
Preheat maintenance shall be maintained during velding only. The co=pleted weld shall be cooled in still air.
6.
Variations in the joint geometry shown above is permitted provided the joint is single or double velded and the root spacing is maintained within the specified tolerances.
- 7. Maximum thickness of any single deposit shall not exceed 1/2".
- 8. A preheat cf 150 F is required for material thicknesses up to and including 1 1/2" and a preheat of 250 Fisrequiredasaminimumforthicknessesover11/2".
The interpass temperature range shall be 150 -500 for thicknesses up to and including 1 1/2" andshall be 250 -500 F for thicknesses over 1 1/2".
