3.0 RESPONSIBILITY

requirements and the coordination of requirements for the design functions of the On Site Hanger Design Grous belongs to the Hanger Design Manager. He is also responsible for the general supervision and execution of engineering and
) g the assignment of specific projects to a Lead Engineer.
The maintenance and distribution of this Engineering Instruction is the responsibility of the Hanger Design Manager. He also approves all Design Reviewers. 3.2 Lead Hanger Design Engineer - Pipe Hanger Engineering l~i . The Lead Engineer reviews the latest revisions to the drawings and specifications. He is responsibile for the preparation of hanger designs on rough sketches based on i requirements including design specificatiers the pre-1 paration of the job' instructions and the ASME Data Report i for the plate and shell and linear comoonent supports i (whenapplicable). 3.3 Hanger Design Engineer - pipe Hanger Engineering The Hanger Engineer's duties are assigned to him by the Lead . Engineer. He must perfonn all necessary calculations and prepare rough sketches of the design of the pipe hangers taking into considersation all requirements, design specifi-cations and applicable mechanical, stru:tural, etc. drawings. He may be an approved Design Reviewer. i 3.4 Squad Leader - Orafting b The Squad Leader is responsible for the preparation and
.% revision of hanger drawings from the Hanger Engineer's rough sketches in accordance with job engineering instruc-tions. For proper revision and preparation of the drawings, , , he may delegate certain tasks to a designated Craf ter. He also verifies that all drafting documentation is complete
{ y before it is returned to the Hanger Engineer. The authoHty for performing any function herein assigned N@(( 3.5 to an individual may be delegated by him to any other qualif-ied member within the organizational structure.
,- 4.0 HANGER ENGINEERING PROCEDURES ,9 4.1 Control of Design Inout On Incoming Drawings '[ , 4.1.1 8.11 incoming drawings and specifications are received by the Lead Engineer. '.' . 4.1.2 The Lead Engineer is responsible for checking all incoming l drawings to determine if they are within the Hanger Design Groups scope of work. He must determine requirements for new hanger design and/or revisions to previously designed hangers and prepare required hanger designs in accordance with the project schedule. He is also responsible for re-viewing customer specifications and incorporating them into all design functions.

4.4 Preparation of Hanger Sketches
'4.4. A file is initiated that is referenced by system (or other appropriate reference). The file will contain all infonnation pertinent to hanger design including all preliminary sketches.

'! contain the information listed on Form OHE-6 or as modified by the job engineering instructions.
'! 4.4.4 Hanger locations are marked on the appropriate work copy of

!. number, or other hanger identification. The appropriate work copy to be marked is the copy of the lastest drawing at the job inception. . When later revisions are issued, the latest issue is stapled 'i , to the marked drawing. In cases where an entire new piping system is added to a new revision, hangers are marked on that
- ) revision, and it is stapled pemanently with the initial -
marked drawing. Subsequent revisions are treated in a
, similar fashion. If a drawing revision has no hanger mark-ings on it when a new revision is issued, it is detached from the working set and discarded. The marked Mechanical drawings are retained as a record of the piping which has been supported.
Only one working copy of marked drawings is maintained regard-
. less of the number of engineers working the job. .
i, ij 4.4.5 All calculations performed by the Hanger Engineer or Stress Analyst in the design of any hanger, are performed on a
, standard calculation sheet, Form. 0HE-5, which can be cross-referenced to the hanger. All calculation pages should be , included (i.e. Page 1 of 10). All calculations are initialed , and dated in the allocated spaces on the top of the page by the individual performing same.

.4.5.1 Any type of additional computer analysis used in the design of pipe hangers must undergo the following:
