Decket 50 382. Status of Facility Completion (NT0L)

L Dis letter transmits the NTE Report and delineates the status of Waterford 3 k

readiness for operation as of April 1.1983. This report documents the status of regtenal inspection activities, the applicant's quality assurance t

program. and aperationsi readiness.

k The information for this report was gathered before April 1.1983. Since that time, Louisiana Peuer and Light (LPR) has completed hot functional testing (NFT) and the integrated leak rate test (ILRT).

Rough data, editch is still under evaluation. indicates a successful ILRT. HFT went assethly escept for same problems with the amargency feeduater system.

Dese problees involving waterhammer and a failure of some valves to operate as espected, are currently under review.

LPE is currently evaluating their overall schedule. LP E may be rr'ly for OL in 6 monthat hosever. it is not clear at the present time whether progress can be made rapidly enough to actually achieve that goal. During June 1-3,1983, an IWtc Caseleed and Ferocast Panel will visit Waterford 3 by which time a clearer near term schedule should emerge.

An updated report will be forwarded approximately 3 months prior to 0L as mflected by the results of the Caseload and Forecast Panel. A final detailed open iten list will be forwarded about 1 month prior to 0L.
