McGuire Nuclear Station Unit 2 Docket No. 50-370 4 Section XI, Inservice Inspection Reexamination of Reactor Vessel Planar Flaw Final Report

Dear Sir:

Please find enclosed the final report involving the Unit 2 Flaw #213 Characterization Project. l Flaw # 213, located in weld 01, has been reclassified based on recent near surface data from an unacceptable surface connected planar flaw to an acceptable subsurface volumetric flaws an acceptable subsurface volumetric flaw, no further periodic inspections are required. Weld 01 will be examined during the 20 year ISI inspection. This inspection is expected to occur during refueling outage 2EOC-14.

By issue of this final report, Duke Power Company considers the matter of flaw 213 to have reached final resolution. We will inform the staff should unforeseen circumstance involving Flaw #213 arise. This report is submitted for NRC information.
