Dear Sir or Madam:
In accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(p)(2), I am submitting a change to the Rhode Island Atomic Energy Commissions Physical Security Plan.
These changes are to be made while a new burglar and supervisory system is installed at the facility. The changes eliminate a redundant burglar alarm to the Narragansett Police Department and reduce the number of door and window sensors to those necessary for protection of the special nuclear material. This should reduce false alarms caused from sensors located outside of the security areas. The new alarm system will add another telephone line to ADT (alarm company) for reliability.
The changes were approved by the Reactor Utilization Committee and do not decrease the safeguards effectiveness of the plan.
New pages 10,11,18 and 19 (revised 8-22-94) of the Security Plan are enclosed which reflects the above changes. Please replace these pages in your copy of the plan.
