This letter refers to the announced safeguards inspection conducted by hir. A. Della Ratta on
,ianuary 19 22,1993, of activities authorized by NRC License No R-95 and to the discussions
held with you and hir W. Simoneau of your staff by hir. Della Ratta at the conclusion of the'

inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are important to public health and safety and are
-
described in the Region I Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these
areas, the inspection consisted of selective examination of procedures and representative records,

interviews with personnel and observations by the inspector. Corrective actions for one violation
and two unresolved items identified during our previous inspection, conducted on November 19-
22, 1991, were evaluated and closed.
The inspector observed that the programs being implenented for the control, accountability and
,
physical security 'of special nuclear material, including the transportation ofirradiated fuel, were
directed toward the protection of public health and safety. No safety concerns or violations of-
.
regulatory requirements were identificd.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosures will be placed in
the NRC's Fubile Document Room.
