Background

}

In " Licensee's Tectimony on Matters Other than Etructural t

Adequccy of the Modified Complex", Licenace tectified that i

drilling aleng column line N' in the electrical at Willaries l

. room, so that rebar U-bends could be inserted would not i

affect the tendons in the precast pancis of the floor slab because the tendons are located at regular intervals and their location would be established and avoided during the drilling.

This testimony was based on Licensee's plan at that time to drill holes one inch in diameter.

Bechtel field construction engineering personnel requested that additional holes five inches in diameter be drilled to facilitate concrete placement.

This size hole necessarily required that two tendons in one panel be severed during the drilling process.

l Commitment Clari_fication The commitment is changed to allow no more than two tendons to be cut in the precast panel along column line M'.

Evaluation The design live load for the particular area is 300 psf.

An evaluation has shown that even with two tendons cut, the panel still has excess capacity when the actual live load resulting from the concrete placement is applied.

Once the new wall on N' line is constructed under the panel, it again will be able to carry the live load of 300 psf.

This change in commitment does nott (1) increase the occurrence probability or an accident of malfunction of safety-related equipment previously analyzed; (2) increase the consequences of an accident or malfunction of safety-related equipment previously analysed; (3) represent the possibility of a different type of accident or malfunction of safety-related equipment from the previously analyseds l
