OPERATIONS SUM 4ARY Fort Calboun Station Unit No.1 was shutdown on October 30 for an inspecticn of the feedvater nozzles. The unit returned to power operation on November 8,1979 The unit operated at essentially 100%

power the remainder of the month.

Operator training on the sixth operating shift as scheduled.

The preparation for the 1980 outage continued. The required modi fications to the station for fire protection and those required by NUREG-0578 (Three Mile Island) are being reviewed by the operations staff .

Two operators left the District during the month of November.

All required surveillance test s and operational checks were completed during the =onth of November.

A. PERFCRMANCE CEARACTERIDSTICS LER Number Deficiency 79-020 During inspections of accessible piping being performed in accordance with I.E. Bulletin 79-02, eight snubbers on the safety injection system piping were found to be inoperable because of improper installation of the anchor bolts. No significant occurrence took place, The probable consequences vould have been the inability of the snubbers to perform their design function during a seismic event.79-021 During the inspection and evaluation of safety-related piping systems and associated seismic restraints required by I.E. Bulletin 79-14, discrepancies were found between the design documents and the as-built configuration of several seisnic restraints. This LER includes only discrepancies where corrective action was initiated either before or after analysis, up to and including 11-9-79. Subsequent analysis performed to date on the affected lines have not indicated any significant safety problems. A final report will be submitted in accordance with I.E. Bulletin 7914.
