Probable Consecuences of Event The bealth and sa fety of the general publ ic vere not af fected by thie event because the trip '.alve was satisfactorily operated by using the Train P, close pushbutton. 'Ihe re are no generic implications ..,ssocia ted with th is occu rron.ce. .

Cause of Occurrence The main steam trip valve did not close fron the Train A pushhutton because the auxiliary relay in tha valve's Train A control circuit was open and would not pick up.

Innediate Corrective Action T' ' had re l a y wa s replaced with a neu one from stock and the Train A centrol circuit was tested with satisfactory results.
