Response to Generic Letter 87-02 R.E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant Docket No. 50-244

Dear Mr'. Stahle:

Generic Letter 87-02 requested responses from licensees, which under the most recent schedule, are due by December 1, 1987. However, Dr. Thomas E. Murley in a response to the Seismic Qualification Utility Group (SQUG) dated November 19, 1987, further revised the response schedule. In his letter, Dr. Murley stated that the SQUG October 9, 1987 letter provided the necessary SQUG-member utility response to Generic Letter 87-02 and that licensees participating in the SQUG do not need to provide separate responses to Generic Letter 87-02 at this time.

The purpose of this letter is to affirm that RGGE is a member of SQUG, and that the October 9 letter does provide the information requested of Rochester Gas and Electric by Generic Letter 87-02, dated February 19, 1987.
