Dear Mr. Stahle:
In accordance with USNRC Generic Letter 88-03, Resolution of
'eneric Safety Issue 93, ".Steam Binding of Auxiliary Feedwater Pumps", Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation (RG&E) confirms that procedures are in place and vill be maintained to monitor fluid conditions within the Auxiliary Feedwater Systemtimes and the Standby Auxiliary Feedwater System each shift during when the systems are recpxired to be operable. Steps are included in the procedures for recognizing steam binding and for restoring the Auxiliary Feedwater Systems to operable status should steam binding occur." These procedure vere implemented prior to, and in agreement with the recommendations of I.E. Bulletin 85-01.
This response recpxired 12 staff hours to perform the recgxested confirmation AND 8 staff hours to prepare the written report.
