Dear Friend,

We have heard of the proposed expansion of the nuclear power plants in Wisconsin. This would be unwise since these plants are very old and have had serious safety problems in the past. On top of this, there is no way to store the radioactive waste we now have emanating from the plants, and to add more radioactive waste to what we have would lead to a bigger problem for the Wisconsin taxpayers. The radioactivity leaking from the plants will continue to lead to more cancers in the state which will add to the financial burden of the Wisconsin taxpayers. The silos now storing the radioactive waste will be insufficient for future use, and the burden will fall on Wisconsin taxpayers to move the waste to a more suitable location, if there is any.

We are opposed to the expansion of the plants, and we ask that alternative forms of energy be used in the state that will lessen the health risk for the citizens and ease the tax burden on them.
