The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff (NRC) in the Reactor Systems Branch of the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation is reviewing the Extended Power Uprate license amendment request for the Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2. The staff determined that additional information is required to continue its review. Draft requests for additional information (RAIs) were sent to you via e-mail on August 31, 2010, and subsequently discussed with you and your staff during a September 7, 2010, teleconference. As a result of the teleconference, the staff provided revised draft RAIs. You proposed some additional changes to these revised RAIs on September 8, 2010, which the staff agreed were acceptable.
The formal RAIs are being provided as an attachment to this e-mail. As discussed with you on September 8, 2010, NextEra Energy Point Beach, LLC, will provide a response no later than September 24, 2010.
