Purpose:

The NRC requested an Annual Assessment Meeting with Entergy to discuss the NRCs assessment of the safety performance of Indian Point Nuclear Generating Units 2 and 3 for calendar year 2008. The NRCs assessment is documented in a letter dated March 4, 2009.

Orlando, Director of Engineering Public Participation: The Indian Point Annual Assessment Meeting is a Category 1 Meeting. The public is invited to observe this meeting and will have opportunities to communicate with the NRC staff following the business portion, before the meeting is adjourned. Several NRC representatives will also be available for an extended information session both prior to and during the Annual Assessment Meeting with Entergy. The information session is being provided to maximize discussion with the public to ensure their issues and concerns may be presented, understood, and considered by the NRC.
