Dear Mr. Tifft,
The Indian Point Decommissioning Oversight Board (DOB) invites the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to make a presentation and take questions from Board members at our next meeting, to take place on Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 6pm to 9pm at Buchanan Village Hall in Buchanan, NY.1 The DOB further requests NRC participation in a public forum on a date and time to be arranged in the July 2023 or August 2023 timeframe.
The June 15, 2023 meeting will include discussions regarding (1) the NRCs radiological public exposure limits; and (2) NRC violations issued at Indian Point - two topics of great interest to board members and the public. We request that NRC deliver: (1) a 10-minute presentation regarding the scientific methods used in establishing and updating the NRCs radiological public exposure limits, including accounting for women, children, and at-risk populations; and (2) a 10-minute presentation regarding the NRC violations issued at Indian Point, including a discussion of the NRCs process from identifying a potential violation to issuing a formal citation, and to take questions. If you wish to have more time for these presentations, we will try to accommodate you.
