SUMMARY

OF TELEPHONE CONFERENCE CALL HELD ON MARCH 17, 2009, BETWEEN THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION AND ENTERGY OPERATIONS, INC. REGARDING PROGRESS ON NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION STANDARD 805 TRANSITION ACTIVITIES A teleconference was held between representatives of Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. (ENO) and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff to discuss progress on the Palisades Nuclear Plant (PNP) National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 805 transition activities. ENO submitted "Palisades NFPA 805 Project Milestones" table (see Enclosure 1) which provides the list of NFPA 805 transition activities and their status. The licensee stated that all the tasks are on track and at present there are no significant barriers and no scope additions. Based on NRC staff recommendation, licensee added the "Start Date" column for all the tasks. The licensee is also going to add peer review as a milestone for Fire Probabilistic Risk Assessments and Internal Events. The licensee will submit an updated table prior to the status call next month. Enclosure 2 provides the list of all attendees.

On December 9, 2008 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)

Accession Number ML083260577), NRC staff granted additional enforcement discretion to Palisades. ENO in its letter dated November 25, 2008 (ADAMS Accession Number ML083370155) made a commitment to conduct monthly teleconference with the NRC staff to discuss progress on the Palisades Nuclear Plant NFPA 805 transition activities.
