DESCRIPTION OF OCCURRENCE:

At 1025 hours0.0119 days <br />0.285 hours <br />0.00169 weeks <br />3.900125e-4 months <br />, pressurizer level Channel III was declared inoperable due to it reading 4% higher than other operable channels.

Pressurizer level Channel III was placed in the tri~ped condition and Action Statements for LCO's 3.3.1.1 and 3.3.2.l(b) were implemented.

mentation personnel investigated and the channel was returned to operanle status at 1550.hours.

DESIGNATION OF APPARENT CAUSE OF OCCURRENCE:

Non-condensable gas trapped in the sensing line between the condensate pot and.the differential pressure transmitter caused a false high level signal.

ANALYSIS OF OCCURRENCE:

Applicable Action Statements for LCO's 3.3.1.1 and 3.3.2.1 allow power operation to continue until the next required functional test provided the inoperable charinel is placed in the tripped condition within 1 hour1.157407e-5 days <br />2.777778e-4 hours <br />1.653439e-6 weeks <br />3.805e-7 months <br />.

Channel III pressurizer level was placed in the tripped condition within 1 hour1.157407e-5 days <br />2.777778e-4 hours <br />1.653439e-6 weeks <br />3.805e-7 months <br /> and remained in that condition until

.it was returned to operable status.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

The condensate pot on pressurizer level channel III was vented to remove the non-condensate gas.

Level indication decreased to match other operable channels.
