No. 11 Steam Generator Level Channel III Inoperable CONDITIONS PRIOR TO OCCURRENCE:
Operational Mode 1, Reactor Power ascending from 91% to 100% Power DESCRIPTION OF OCCURRENCE:
At 1100 hours0.0127 days <br />0.306 hours <br />0.00182 weeks <br />4.1855e-4 months <br />, while performing a Channel Functional Test on No. 11 Steam Generator, Level Channel III, the high level trip point was found set above the Technical Specification allowable value.
Channel III was declared inoperable and Action Statement No. 7 for LCO 3.3.1.1 and Action Statement No. 14 for LCO 3.3.2.1 were implemented.
A channel calibration check was performed which resulted in an adjustment to the comparator trip point and dead band.

was completed and No. 11 Steam Generator Level Channel III was declared operable at 1144 hours0.0132 days <br />0.318 hours <br />0.00189 weeks <br />4.35292e-4 months <br /> and Ac.tion Statement No. 7 for LCO 3. 3.1.1 and Action Statement No. 14 for LCO 3.3.2.1 were terminated.
DESIGNATION OF APPARENT CAUSE OF OCCURRENCE:
The comparator was previously found outside its allowable limits during a channel function test on 7/26/76.
The channel has been found to be within its limits on all monthly functional tests up to 7/1/77.
The cause of this occurrence was instrument drift caused by aging of elec-tronic components.
ANALYSIS OF OCCURRENCE:
Action Statement No. 7 for LCO 3.3.1.1 and Action Statement No. 14 for LCO 3.3.2.l state that with the number of operable channels one less than the total number of channels, startup and/or power operation may proceed until the performance of the next required channel functional test provided the inoperable channel is placed in the tripped condition within 1 hour1.157407e-5 days <br />2.777778e-4 hours <br />1.653439e-6 weeks <br />3.805e-7 months <br />.
No. 11 Steam Generator Level Channel III was already in the tripped condition and remained in that condition until it was returned to service at 1144 hours0.0132 days <br />0.318 hours <br />0.00189 weeks <br />4.35292e-4 months <br /> on 7/01/77, therefore, the LCO's were not violated.

CORRECTIVE ACTION
The channel comparator trip point and dead band were recalibrated.
A channel calibration check and a channel functional test were completed.
The operability of the channel was confirmed.
