Pressurizer Level Channel I Inoperable CONDITIONS PRIOR TO OCCURRENCE:

DESCRIPTION OF OCCURRENCE:
At 1525 hours0.0177 days <br />0.424 hours <br />0.00252 weeks <br />5.802625e-4 months <br />, pressurizer ievel channel I was declared inoperable due to it reading 3 to 5% higher than other operable channels. The pressurizer level channel was placed in the tripped condition.
Action Statement No. 7 for LCO 3.3.1.1, Table 3.3-1 was placed in effect.
Power operation continued thru 5/31/77 when the channel was repaired and returned to service.
DES:IGNATION OF APPA:RENT CAUSE OF OCCURRENCE::
Non-condensable gas trapped in the sensing line between the condensate pot an~ the differential pressure transmitter caused a false high level signal.
ANALYSIS OF OCCURRENCE:
Action Statement No. 7 for LCO 3.3.l.l allows power operation to con-tinue until the next required functional test provided the inoperable channel is placed in the tripped condition within l hour.
Channel I pressurizer level was placed in the tripped condition within 1 hour1.157407e-5 days <br />2.777778e-4 hours <br />1.653439e-6 weeks <br />3.805e-7 months <br /> and remained in that condition until repairs were made on 5/31/77.
- Therefore, the LCO was not violated.
At no time was there any danger to the health and safety of the general public or site personnel.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
The differential pressure sensing line was backfilled with DM water through the condensate pot into the pressurizer.
The trapped gas was flushed out and the level signal was reduced to within 20 millivolts of other operable channels.
Pressurizer level Channel I was declared operable and the Action Statement terminated.
