- O NOTICE OF VIOLATION Corrnonwealth Edison Company Docket No. 50-456 Docket No. 50-457 As a result of the inspection conducted from August 28 through October 15, 1988, and in accordance with the "General Policy and Procedure for NRC Enforcement Actions," 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C (1988), the following violatior was identified:
Braidwood Station Technical Specifications Scction 6.8.1.a requires that written procedures be established, implemented, and maintained to cover applicable activities recommended in Appendix A of Regulatory Gu'de 1.33 Revision 2. February 1978. Procedures for abnormal, of f-nomal, ir alam conditions are recormended in Appendix A of Regulatory Guide 1.33.
Braidwood Alam Response Procedere BwAR 1-1-B7, "Secondary Sampling Panel / Sink Trouble," Revision 52, April 1987, requires that operators ircediately notify the Radiation Chemistry Department in respunse to a secondary sampling panel / sink trouble condition (Alarm No.1-1-B?).
Contrary to the above requirement, on September 14, 1988, Rad / Chem Department personnel were not notified of a secondary senpling panel /
sink trouble condition when indicated by alams which began about 9:43 p.m. on Unit I and remained unaware of the condition until approximately 11:00 p.m. on September 14, 1988, when a Radiation Chemistry Technician discovered the condition.
This is a Severity Level IV violation (Supplement I),
