1 OPERATIONAL

SUMMARY

MAY 1997 UNIT 1 Unit I generated 465,270 megawatt-hours (MWh) gross electrical power during May with a capacity factor of

. 54.1 percent. Unit 1 Cycle 8 refueling outage was completed on May 12,1997 at 1510 EDT when the generator was synchronized to the grid. Unit I reactor power reached 30 percent at 2249 EDT on May 12. ,

The generator was taken off-line at 0551 EDT on May 13 for a planned main turbine over-speed test and was i returned to service at 0717 EDT on May 13. Unit I reached 100 percent reactor thermal power on May 19 at I 1230 EDT and continued to operate at 100 percent throughout the end of May. I i

i UNIT 2 Unit 2 generated 874,067 MWh gross electrical power during May with a capacity factor of 101.7 percent.

i There were no outages or power reductions of greater than 20 percent to report during May. i 1
