O 4 j OPERATIONAL SUMMFi OCTOBER 1997 UNIT 1 Unit 1 generated 878,645 megawatthours (MWh) (gross) electrical power during October with a capacity factor of 102.1 percent. There were no outages or power reductions of greater than 20 percent during October. Unit I was operating at 100 percent power at the end of the month. UNIT 2 Unit 2 generated 80,341 MWh (gross) electrical power during October with a capacity factor of 9.3 percent. Unit 2 Cycle 8 refueling outage began October 5, 1997, at 0101 Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) when the generator was removed from the grid :nd the reactor entered Mode 3. Core offload was compleiad on Occt;er 14 at 0820 EDT. On' October 19 at 2306 EDT, Unit 2 entered Mode 6, and core reload was completed on October 22 at 0537 EDT. Unit 2 was in Mode 3 at the end of the month.
