Initial report of the subject potential deficiency was made on September 9,1974. In compliance with paragraph 50.55(e) of 10 CFR Part 50, this is submitted as an interim report. l On September 6, 1974, during veld preparation on the subject '

tee, an indication of a lamination was found in the veld prep area. A complete ultrasonic examination of the tee was per- =

formed September 7 and 8. j This equipment comes under General Electric's scope of supply and General Electric is evaluating the subject deficiency. '

We hope to have GE's final evaluation and submit the final .

report to you by November 8,1974.
