CLOGGED COOLING WATER LINES TO RER AND CORE SPRAY MOTOR BEARING COOLERS - IE CONTROL NO. H01309F2 Initial report of the subject reportable deficiency was made to G. R. Klingler, NRC-IE, Region II, on April 22, 1976, and was followed by our May 24 and August 23, 1976, letters, J. E. Gilleland to N. C. Moselay. Emelosed is our third interim report coneerning this deficiency. Until a final fix has been' implemented, interim reports will continue to be prepared every three months.

BROWNS FERRY NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 3 CLOGGED COOLING WATER LINES TO RIIR AND CORE SPRAY PUMP MOTOR BEARING COOLEPS DDR 230 TIIIRD INTERIM REPORT On April 22, 1976, an initial report was made by telephone to NRC-01E Inspector, G. R. Klingler, by T. W. Barkalow and S.11. Mindel. The report was made in accordance with 10CFR50.55(e). Subsequently, two written reports on this deficiency were submitted to Norman C. Moseley (NRC-01E) from J. E. Gilleland (TVA) on May 24, 1976, and August 23, 1976. This is the third interim report on the deficiency. A final report will be submitted when final plans to correct the deficiency are completed.
The second interim report dated August 23, 1976, described several immediate corrective actions that were to be taken to temporarily correct the deficiency.
These consisted of cleaning and replacing pipes. The actions described were impiccented and a test of the system was conducted. The required flow rates described in the second interim report were met in this test.
A commitment was 1::ade to perform a system test every three months. The first of these tests will be conducted shortly. We will submit another report after evaluating the results of this test. The three-month interval reports will then be submitted af ter each test until a final report is submitted and this deficiency closed.
