Browns Ferry were conducting a test on the DD20-645E4 - Type 999 unit. They were carrying a 2950 KW @ 80 PF khen the field breaker tripped. l ) 2. Freman reported that they had m2asured 96 tcp at the circuit breaker and 112 Anp in the field. l I 3. Attached is a copy of the schantic which shows a 100A j circuit breaker. Freman identified the circuit breaker as j a G.E. Type TED136100. The schmutic is frcm an DD drawing i and the 100A is DD's notation, j a 4. The DD Characteristic Curves show that the generator field requires 100 Anps at 2600 KW and 80% PF. 5. It would appear that 100 Anp is too low a rating and should j i be 125 Amp, but this wcr. tid require a larger frame size circuit brerAer for wc.*ch there would not be enough recm in the cabinet, j 6. I have asked DD to check into this matter. I do not know ] why the Amps at the breaker should be less than the tcps at e the field. As I see it, all the field Aq:s can frcm the ) EPr and PCr transforners. 1 3 % (J _
