Docket No. 50-247 Consolidated Edison Co. of M.Y., Inc.

LER-82-002/03L-0 Indian Point Unit No. 2 During full power operation it was noted that Weld Channel and Penetration Pressuration System (MCPPS) air consunction was in excess of 0.2% of containment volume oer day (T.S.3.3.

D. 2.b) . The ECPPS continuousiv maintains a pressure in excess of containment design pressure, thereby ensuring that there will be no outleakage of the containment atmosphere via penetrations or velds during an accident. Since the system air pressure was not affected by the increased air consuention, the system would have perforred its intended function.

Since Valve 1192 is the outermost of three valves in series on the 10" containment pressure relief line any leakage through the valve would have been from the UCPP System and not either into or out of containment. The valve was renoved -

and the seat replaced. The valve was then tested satisfactorily and re-installed within the time period permitted by the Technical Specifications.
