Dear Mr. Denton:

This letter will serve to confirm mv telephone conference of August 29, 1979 with Mr. Stew Varga. I advised him that the owners of the South Texas Eroject are conducting a schedule and cost evaluation. While the evaluation is not complete, we are presently estimating that South Texas Project Units 1 and 2 will be ready to load fuel in September of 1993 and in September of 1985, respectively. The current estimate of cost for both units is approximately $2.4 'olllion. The cost and schedule evaluation is expec.ed to be ccmpleted within about two months. At that time we shall file appropriate updated information on thes e matters in docket ST:I 50-493 and ST:: 50-499. Very truly yours,
