Dear Mr. Grier:

In reply to Inspection & Enforcement (IE) Bulletin No. 79-23, Potential Failure of Emergency Diesel Generator Field Exciter Transformer, we have reviewed the Jamesport Nuclear Power Station (JNPS) design and submit the following response.

The Purchase Order for the JNPS Emergency Diesel Generators has not been placed. Accordingly, the Emergency Diesel Generator vendor is not known at this time.

Nevertheless, prior to issuing a Purchase Order, we will ensure that the concern raised in Action Item 1 of IE Bulletin No. 79-23 has been investigated and adequate corrective action, if required, is implemented. In addition, the installed unit will be tested during the plant pre-operational test program in sccordance with Action Item 2 of this IE Bulletin.

Should you require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Very truly yours, c fY o
