Re: In the Matter of Long Island Lighting Company (Jamesport Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 & 2)

Docket Nos. 50-516 and 50-517)

Gentlemen:

Please be advised that on January 29, 1980 the New York State Board on Electric Generation Siting and the En-vironment denied the application of the Long Island Lighting Company to construct two 1150 mw nuclear generating stations at Jamesport, New York (Case #80003). The Board instead de-termined that it would certify one 800 mw coal generating station to be sited at either Jamesport or Shoreham West. A final decision as to site will be made within one month's time.

We have not as yet received a copy of the Siting Board's decision but will immediately. forward same upon receipt.
