Gentlemen:

This is the December, 197P progress report of Houston Lighting & Power Company.

During the month Houston received the NRC Staff's answers to Houston's Interrogatories and Requests for Production. Houston also received a supplemental answer and additional documents from the Department of Justice.

Houston is studying these answers and accompanying documents.

Houston is preparing a response to interrogatories from the Department of Justice. These answers or objections, and documents, should be served on or before January 15, the agreed-to due date. Also Houston is cont.i.nuing to work informally with Brownsville, Justice, and the NRC Staff (and other parties upon request) on further discovery.

Respectfully submitted,
