REPORT OF TEXAS UTILITIES COMPANIES - JANUARY, 1980 Pursuant to the direction of the Atemic Safety and Licensing Board during the Special Prehearing Conference on June 21, 1978 (Tr. 124-125) in South Texas, and during the conferences in Comanche Peak and South Texas on December 5, 1978 (Tr. 79-90) , the Texas Utilities Company System ("TU")

submits this report on discovery during'the month of January, 1980.

During the month of January, TU participated in the depositions of Messrs. Autry, Beard, Borchelt, Castillion, Chalker, Corder, Farrington, Harrison, Hayers, Locke, Manning, March, Milford, Monahan, Phelps, Segrest and Simons. The depositions of Borchelt and Chalker were not completed and have been rescheduled for February 18 and 19, respectively.

The deposition of Edward Watson, scheduled for January 19, was postponed due to his serious illness, but has been rescheduled

. Tor February 27th. The deposition of Mr. Yarbrough was also postponed until February 29th.

During this month TU received the "Second Request Of Central And South West Corporation, et al. For Production Of Documents Addressed To Texas Utilities Generating Company,"

and filed its " Answer Of Texas Utilities And Its Subsidiaries To The NRC Staff's Third Set Of Interrogatories And Requests For Production Of Documents Propounded To HL&P And Texas Utilities Generating Company. " It also filed its first set of interrogatories and request for production of documents from Central and South West Corporation and_its various subsidiaries.

The Department of Justice reviewed files at the offices of the Texas Electric Service Company in Forth Worth on January 8th and during the period January 22-25. TU also made additional documents available for inspection by attorneys for CSW.

TU also provided the NRC Staff with a copy of the testimony of E.D. Scarth in Docket No. 1903 combined with Docket No. 1517 before the Texas Public Utilities Commission
