ENCLOSURE SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 2 ERROR IN ANALYSIS OF TWO-INCH CONTAINMENT SPRAY TEST LINES NCR SQN CEB 8007 l

FINAL REPORT Description of Condition The two, two-inch containment spray test lines were analy=ed using an incorrect outside diameter in the seismic and DBA analysis. A dimensicn of 3.375 inches was used instead of the correct outside diameter of 2.375 inches. This resulted in an analytical model that was more rigid than the actual pipe. Approximately 46 f act of pipe ic involved. These test lines come off of the containment spray headers and are used as i fill lines to leak rate test the containment isolation valves.

Safety Implications During a seismic event or DBA this condition could have lead to a failure

! of one or both of the two-inch test lines. This would reduce the flow to the containment spray headers. In addition, a subsequent failure of an

, isolation valve could have resulted in a breach of containment.

Corrective Action The test lines have been reanaly=ed using the correct outside dimension and two additional supports are required. The design and installation of the additional supports will be completed before fuel loading.
