SUBJECT:

INSPECTION 05000171/2005007, EXELON NUCLEAR, PEACH BOTTOM ATOMIC POWER STATION, UNIT 1, DELTA, PENNSYLVANIA

Dear Mr. Braun:

On July 6-7, 2005, Laurie Kauffman of this office conducted a safety inspection at the above address of activities authorized by the above listed NRC license. The inspection was an examination of your licensed activities as they relate to maintenance and surveillance activities and radiation safety of the Unit 1 exclusion area, which is established for the safe storage of radioactive material. The inspection consisted of observations by the inspector, interviews with personnel, and a selected examination of representative records. The findings of the inspection were discussed with you and members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection. The enclosed report presents the results of this inspection.

Within the scope of this inspection, the NRC did not identify any violations. The programs related to the Unit 1 Technical Specifications were appropriately implemented.

Current NRC regulations and the General Policy and Procedure for NRC Enforcement Actions are available at the NRC web site http://www.nrc.gov/materials/ql-material.html or by contacting the Government Printing Office (GPO) toll-free at 1-888-293-6498. The GPO is open from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays). No reply to this letter is required.

Your cooperation with us is appreciated.

Sincerely,
