SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE l May 1999 l

The unit began the month at 100% power.

On 05/09/99 at 1930 a reactor shutdown was commenced in preparation for a scheduled maintenance outage. The unit was cooled down to Mode 5 (cold shutdown) to conduct repairs to a cavity cooling fan motor and Moisture Separator Drain Tank. The outage commenced on 05/10/99 at 0035.

Repairs were completed and the reactor was taken critical on 05/17/99 at 0945. The unit was paralleled l to the grid at 1838. Reactor power reached 100% on 05/18/99 at 1045.

The unit was taken cri ical on 05/06/99 at 1248. The outage ended on 05/08/99 at 1442 when the unit was paralleled to the grid.

The unit reached 100% power on 05/15/99 at 0130 following physics testing.

The unit remained at 100% for the remainder of the month.
