In accordance with Appendix A, Beaver Valley Technical Specifications, LER 80-086/OlP, Technical Specification 6.9.1.8.1, Analysis of Structures, is submitted. This occurrence was reported to Mr. D. A. Beckman, The Beaver Valley Resident Inspector, at 1120 hours0.013 days <br />0.311 hours <br />0.00185 weeks <br />4.2616e-4 months <br /> on November 21, 1980.

Evaluation and reanalysis required by IE Bulletin 79-14 has shown that the following support has less conservatism than originally calculated. The overstress condition exists en the seal injection header from the discharge of the high head safety injection pumps. The failure of this line would be unisolable in the nor=si system arrangement, but could be isolated with the reactor coolant system fill header being the injection header in an emergency.

Modification of this pipe support was completed prior to entering mode 1, power operation, on November 22, 1980.
