The plant operated at approximately 100% power until i1-29-98. At 01:46 on Il-27-98 The "A" train ESPAS alarm actuated for the "A" Containment Cooler. An investigation determined that containment cooler fan DSGN01 A had failed, causing breaker NG0lT _o trip. On 11-29-98 at 00:00 a downpower to Mode 3 began, to allow the use of the Polar Crane for r placement of the containment cooler fan motor.

The Main Turbine was secured at 12:53 on Il 29-98. Ihe plant entered Mode 3 at 15:25 on 11-29-98. I The replacement of the fan motor was in progress though the end of the reporting period.

SUMMARY

Events 9806 through 9808 are updates for October,1998. Event 9806 originally reported a duration of 71.87 hours0.00101 days
0.0242 hours
1.438492e-4 weeks
3.31035e-5 months
. This included the downpower, the outage and the power ascension. Event 9807 is the actual outage with the revised hours (23.10) that the plant was offline. The revised hours also reduces the Forced outage rate for the month of October from 9.65% to 3.10%.

At 01:46 on I l-27-98 The "A" train ESFAS alarm actuated for the "A" Containment Cooler. An investigation determined that containment cooler fan DSGN01 A had failed, causing breaker NG0lT to trip. On Il-29-98 at 00:00 a downpower to Mede 3 began, to allow the use of the Polar Crane for replacement of the containment cooler fan motor. The Main Turbine was secured at 12:53 on 11-29-98.
