SUMMARY

The plant operated at approximately 98.5% for the month of October due to steam generator low pressure limitations after chemical cleanir.g with the following exceptions:

On 10/02/95 at 08:00 CDT, the plant was shut down to repair a leak on the Excess Letdown line. This line comes off the 'D' loop cross-over line connecting the Reactor Coolant Pump (RCP) with the Steam Generator. The work continued until the leak was repaired. In addition boric acid crystals were identified on the 'B' and 'C' RCPs between the seal housing and casing The bolts on the housings had been replaced during the 1995 spring outage due to leaks in the same area. The cause was determined to be burrs in the bolts causing false elongation readings during the torquing process. The bolts were replaced with studs. On 10/11/95 at 14:26, the main breaker was closed.

On 10/13/95 at 23:01, power was reduced to 98.3% for the performance ofInstrument and Control (I&C) surveillances On 10/16/95 at 17:00, power was reduced to 98.3% for the performance ofI&C surveillances.

On 10/23/95 at 21:00, power was reduced to 98.3% for the performance ofI&C surveillances.

On 10/24/95 at 09:15, power was reduced to 98.1% to adjust the packing on a valve in the Chemical & Volume Control System, BGHV8152.

On 10/25/95 at 19:00, power was reduced to 98.3% for the performance ofI&C surveillances.
