Dear Mr. Grier:

In accordance with BVPS Technical Specification 3.3.3.4.b, Meteorological Instrumentation, the following special report is submitted.

On May 15, 1980, the meteorological (MET) instrumentation computer was moved from the DLCo Headquarters Building in Pittsburgh to a location near the site at the MET Tower. On May 29, 1980, station personnel determined that the MET channels were not responding properly to the automatic calibration signals which are placed into the system hourly. It was found that the computer was loading down the MET system outputs and causing them to read erroneously.

In troubleshocting the proble=, it was found that when the computer was moved, there were output resistors (for telemetering signal conditioning) that should have been removed. The output resistors were icmediately removed and the system calibration checked. The system calibration was verified satisfactory on May 30, 1980. .

Very truly yours, I h J. A. Werling -
