Dear Mr. Fair:
This is to advise you that your facility is in violation of the above referenced NPDES permit as follows:
You exceeded the Unit 1 maximum temperature rise limitation in August 1986.
We realize that the violation resulted fran failure of a circulating water put@ and condenser fouling and that the following corrective measures have been taken: all concerned personnel have been briefed about corrective measures which need to be taken to prevent recurrence.
Therefore, no reply to this letter is required.
Until such time as you achieve canpliance with all conditions of your NPDES permit, you are considered to be in violation of and subject to enforcement action pursuant to Section 309 of the Clean Water Act.
