Proposed amendment, core spray pump operability (TAC MB2892)
John:
Our reviewer, Ron Young, believes there is an inconsistency with your proposed wording for TS 3.4.A.7.c. The revised specification states that "These systems are verified to be operable as described in Specification 3.4.A.7.a on a weekly basis." Ron believes it should be applicable to both TS 3.4.A.7.a (core spray system) and TS 3.4.A.7.b (fire protection system).
The fire protection system is mentioned only in 3.4.A.7.b and is not mentioned in 3.4.A.7.a.
Therefore, it could be interpreted that TS 3.4.A.7.c does not require the fire protection system to be verified operable. This appears to be inconsistent with the wording of the current TS, which requires both the core spray and fire protection systems to be demonstrated operable.
