BRUNSWICK NO. 2 Brunswick Unit No. 2 operated at 74.4* capacity factor for the month of Decc=ber wi:h two major interruptions.

NOVEMBER 30: Power was reduced for 35.2 hours2.314815e-5 days <br />5.555556e-4 hours <br />3.306878e-6 weeks <br />7.61e-7 months <br /> for condenser wate rbox work.

DECEMBER 25: The unit was separated f rom the grid to perform a plant modification on the Safety Relief Valves.

Total downtime far the unit was 144.2 hours2.314815e-5 days <br />5.555556e-4 hours <br />3.306878e-6 weeks <br />7.61e-7 months <br /> resulting in a 80.6% availability factor. More detailed informatien on individual outages is included in Appendix D of this report.

023 791201 F 78.1 A 2 N/A CB VAI. VEX The unit was separated from grid due to high drywell leakage from the Reactor Recirculation Suction and discharge .

valves leak-offs. The suction and discharge valves were leaking exces-sively by the stem packing. Inspectior determined that the Reactor Recirculation Pump 1A " staging" flow valve was not operating.

The packing was ad. justed and the valye glands were repacked as needed to stop leakage. A solenoid for the staging flow valve was found defective. It wat replaced and the unit returned to 8

satisfactory service.
