There fore the subject waterstop splices will be subjected to very small displacement, and tensile strength of the subject splice is not a design requirement in construction joints of this type Semnd point of consideration is that the watertightness of the splice shall be equal to that of continuous material. . The configuration of the splice is such that it prevents water passing throughtthe splice if glued. The splices which have had the union material separated from the parent material shall be repaired to t sstore watertightness. The proper utilization of forms UR-5 and UR-6 have been cr.crcised in the issuance and control of the veld filler material ref erenced in this report. The identity of the weld has been established by location utilizing drawing FSK-201 with the QC inspect' ion plan Q-231-188. ANS Dl.1 allows that velds
~~of this nature can be properly identified by means of drauinga as used here.~~
The WFMC and WD-1 Specifications for filler metal control have been satisfied 1 through the normal use of our issuing procedure. Namely, subject rod cannot ~ be issued by the rod control attendant until the UR-6 form has been completed and signed by the SFWE certifying proper procedure. In this case L. Anthony was delegated this responsibility for this particular work. And, he also
,m
( ) checked the qualification status of each velder to assure they were qualified for the position and procedure. Both actions were in fact accomplished prior to issuance of the rod by the rod control attendant as is evidenced by signatures in the appropriate blanks, (line 6 & 8 respectively). Since further documentation is not required for structural steel welding, the control of the rod by the WR-6 completes the quality requirements. 6

Frequency of tests not assured due to improper log entries. It shculd be noted' that belt sa'r.ples during this period indicated material to be acceptable, which is the final point of acceptance.
