On November 22, 2009 while the plant was shut down for a refueling outage, a loss of Balance of Plant (BOP) power occurred. BOP power includes electrical bus XSW1C2 which supplies power to XPP0134A. After power was restored to the bus, XPP0134A was returned to service on November 30, 2009 at 2141 hours. The pump remained out of service for a total of 8 days and 6 hours, and therefore exceeded the 7 day administrative limit established within the VCSNS Fire Protection Program. During the loss of power to XPP01 34A, the Fire Service System was maintained operable by the Diesel Driven Fire Service Pump (XPP0134B).
