VIRGIL C. SUMMER NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT NO. 1 - RECEIPT AND AVAILABILITY OF THE SUBSEQUENT LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION
Dear Eric S. Carr:
By letter dated August 17, 2023 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML23233A175), Dominion Energy South Carolina, Inc. (DESC), on behalf of itself and Santee Cooper, submitted an application for subsequent license renewal of Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-12 for Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station, Unit No. 1 (V.C.
Summer) to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The NRC staff is currently performing an acceptance review for docketing in accordance with the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) section 2.101(a)(2) and will notify you of the results of this review. Should the NRC staff determine that the application is acceptable for docketing, the NRC staff will issue a schedule for the review, in accordance with 10 CFR 2.102(a).
For your information, enclosed is a copy of the notice relating to your application that is being sent to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Marieliz Johnson as the project manager for the safety review, and Kim Conway as the project manager for the environmental review of your subsequent license renewal application. Please forward copies of all subsequent license renewal correspondence to Marieliz Johnson and Kim Conway. Ed Miller is responsible for the project management of all issues other than subsequent license renewal for V.C. Summer.
