By letter dated May 25, 2017, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff)received the Entergy Operations, Inc. (Entergy) application for renewal of Operating License NPF-47 for River Bend Station, Unit 1 (RBS) (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML17153A282). The application was supplemented by letter dated August 1, 2017 (ADAMS Accession No. ML17213A064).

After the application was accepted, the staff initiated its review of the RBS license renewal application following the guidance in NUREG-1800, Revision 2, "Standard Review Plan for Review of License Renewal Applications for Nuclear Power Plants," and NUREG-1555, Supplement 1, Revision 1 "Standard Review Plans for Environmental Reviews for Nuclear Power Plants."    For the safety review, Entergy's CERTREC document portal is operational and weekly status and coordination calls between Entergy and the staff are taking place. The staff is also planning the operating experience audit for the week of October 2, 2017, at a venue local to NRC headquarters. At this venue, multiple computer terminals will be available for staff use, and key RBS staff will be available to facilitate the audit and to coordinate conference calls with on site RBS staff.
