TERMINATION OF NUCLEAR OPERATIONS Mr. Clegg Crawford, Vice President of Nuclear Operations, informed the Regional Administrator by telephone at 11:00 a.m. (CDT) that the Board of Directors, Public Service Company of Colorado, had directed the termination of nuclear operations at the Fort St. Vrain facility. The plant will enter a 100-day cooldown period-in preparation for defueling of the' reactor. Defueling,is scheduled to take approximately 30 months. The staff is currently reviewing the defueling safety analysis.
The licensee plans to issued a' press release.
