DEMONSTRATION DURING PILGRIM EXERCISE

At 9

50 a.m., during the full scale emergency exercise for Pilgrim, the licensee's security representative in the Technical Suppon Center notified NRC Region I that an actual demonstration was taking place m  ;

downtown Plymouth. The demonstmtors reponedly include 10 Greenpeace demonstrators,30 police  !

of ficers, and 20 firemen, who are demonstmting to note that the Pilgrim emergency plan will not work.  ;

j The demonstrators also included 6 off-duty Plymouth police officers, originally designated by BECO to  !

i staff doors at the media center, but they decided to become demonstrators instead. Licensee security i contractor personnel were dispatched to staff all the media center doors in place of these off-duty l

policemen. No other interference with exercise activities was identi6ed, and the licensee stated that all ,

j off-site stations were being staffed as required. This infonnation is current as of 10:30 a.m., i December 7,1993. ]
