UPDATE OF ACTIONS IN RESPONSE TO HURRICANE GLORIA As of 4:00 p.m. today, hurricane Gloria was located at Northampton, Massachusetts and moving in a north-easterly direction at a speed of approximately 40-50 miles per hour. Highest-winds are now 75 mph. The storm has been slowly dissipating and status downgrade to a tropical storm is expected early this evening. Reactor facilities located along its path (Yankee Rowe, Vermont Yankee, Maine Yankee, Pilgrim) have begun implementing procedures in accordance with their emergency plans for potential

-flooding and high winds.

The only reported damage affecting facilities along Gloria's path have been three plugged travelling screens at Salem Unit 1 and the Millstone complex suffered the loss of meteorological instrumentation, the collapse of two temporary warehouses, and incapacitation of the switchyard due to salt deposition.

Communications with State governments continue and the consolidated status report is being shared with the emergency response officials as needed.
